Newcastle gift voucher platform streamlines online gift giving

Newcastle-grown gift voucher directory, Vouchie.com.au is transforming the way that businesses issue gift vouchers to customers by digitising the buying and sending process.

The new system replaces the need for businesses to print, hand-write and post a gift voucher to a customer.

Developed by HyperWeb Pty Ltd, Vouchie offers an easy, online gift voucher system for a growing number of the region’s attractions and activities. Consumers can now search by category and/or location and purchase a gift voucher online, receiving it via email instantly.

Vouchie Founder, Brendan Brooks said the process is simple.

“When you’ve got someone calling for a gift voucher, there’s a fantastic opportunity to secure new customers. The frustration comes when you’ve got to down tools to manually edit, print, attach or post a physical gift voucher, one customer at a time,” Brendan said.

Businesses looking to list their gift vouchers on the site can do so by filling out an online form, including their business details, voucher terms and logo, and the Vouchie team take care of the rest.

“From the moment a new business signs up, we take care of everything, including the voucher design and the business listing on our site. We can even help our clients list the online gift voucher function on their business website too,” Brendan said.

The likes of NOAH’S on the Beach, Rundle Tailoring Peter Drayton Wines, Money Penny, CBD Cakes and FogHorn Brewhouse, among other fashion, beauty and retail businesses have signed up to Vouchie to streamline access to their wares.

NOAH’S on the Beach has been proactive in using Vouchie for its gift voucher sales, linking to it from the business’ website.

Manager Deb Mackenzie said Vouchie has been a welcome service for its customers.

“Vouchie has provided an excellent additional online option for the purchase of NOAH’S gift vouchers,” Deb said.

“Our customers can now purchase and receive or send a voucher at the click of a button, any time of the day or night.”

Brendan said the service is designed to support small businesses.

“We’re passionate about supporting small business and see this as a great way of connecting consumers to local businesses, no matter where in the world they are located,” Brendan said.

“NOAH’S, for example, has sold gift vouchers across Australia and overseas.”

Vouchie charges businesses a monthly subscription fee of $9.95 or an annual subscription fee of $99.95, with a $2.95 processing fee per voucher sold. Brendan said that for most businesses, the annual fee is covered by the time they’ve sold the first voucher, making it an easy decision to automate what he said is an otherwise time-consuming and underutilised aspect of their business’s cashflow.

“Money for jam is a term we hear plenty from clients who know that, on many occasions, gift vouchers purchased aren’t always used,” Brendan said.

“If you don’t have a gift voucher system in place in your business, quite simply put – you’re missing out on easy money.”
