Newcastle building and construction firm, SEHEZ Group won the Excellence in Small Business Award at the NSW Business Awards, announced at a gala ceremony at Luna Park in North Sydney on Friday 23 November.

The construction company has taken a fresh approach to building services, offering what it describes as a service-provider partnership model that offers a complete turn-key solution for home owners and developers alike.

SEHEZ Group has experienced growth of about 300 per cent a year for the past three years, winning major projects across the residential and commercial building sectors.

SEHEZ Group has completed a wide portfolio of construction work across the city and has established a strong foothold in townhouse development.

Hunter Business Chamber, CEO Bob Hawes said the company had demonstrated great ingenuity and business sense to establish so quickly in a competitive marketplace.

“SEHEZ is a good example of a local firm finding a market niche by thinking outside the square and being prepared to do things a little differently,” Bob said.

“By demonstrating strong business planning, and recruiting the right people for the business in terms of both capability and fit, the executive leadership has been able to grow the company to become a significant player in the local construction sector in a relatively short period of time.”

Matt Galvin, Co-founder of SEHEZ Group, was in Sydney to accept the award with fellow Director, Callan Smith.

“Running a business is a daily challenge so it is gratifying to be recognised like this in front of our peers,” Matt said.

SEHEZ Group’s headquarters are based in Newcastle, with a projects office located in Maryville. The group incorporates SEHEZ Construction for property developers and businesses, Residential which provides full turn-key services for homeowners, and Maintenance services.
