New Director on board for Greater Charitable Foundation

Greater Charitable Foundation has welcomed new Director, Jayne Drinkwater, to the Hunter-based charitable organisation’s Board of Trustees.

Jayne is a current Non-Executive Director of Greater Bank, having been a member of its Board since October 2010. She has extensive experience at a senior level in the areas of operations, customer service, IT and marketing.

Previously employed as interim CEO nib New Zealand and Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Operating Officer at nib Health Funds, Jayne brings a wealth of experience and a new perspective that blends different areas of corporate governance to her role with Greater Charitable Foundation.

Jayne said she is looking forward to her new role, applying her expertise to the not-for-profit sector and helping the foundation continue its philanthropic work in the community.

“I have a strong affiliation with Greater Bank and am delighted to be able to broaden my involvement to cover the amazing work of the Greater Charitable Foundation,” Jayne said.

“It’s an exciting time for the foundation, with the 2018 community partners being announced next month. I’m looking forward to learning more about the work that will be supported via our latest funding round and working with partners to assist those most vulnerable in our community.”

Jayne is an active member of the Hunter community, having held a number of local board positions with the Newcastle Anglican Church Corporation, Hunter Economic Development Corporation, Hunter Sporting Venues Authority, Trustees of Church Property Anglican Diocese of Newcastle and Bishop Tyrrell Anglican College.

This latest appointment follows last month’s news of Anne Thurlow taking on the role of the foundation’s Chairperson after long-standing member of the Greater Bank family and Greater Charitable Foundation Chairman, Ian Nelmes, retired after six-years in the position.

Greater Bank

The customer-owned Greater Bank is Newcastle and the Hunter's only local bank.

It offers a greater kind of banking experience whether you're buying a home, saving, investing, paying the bills, insuring your possessions, travelling or planning for retirement - online, on the phone, at a local branch or through its national ATM network.

Greater Bank is experienced, safe and strong like the big banks.  The difference is it doesn't have shareholders so it's always focussed on customers and community.

Greater Bank's friendly, expert team has made it a winner of the national Roy Morgan Customer Satisfaction Awards three years running, with ratings as high as 97%.
