Leah Jay has announced another appointment to their executive team, with the creation of the new role of Manager, Property Investment Services. After more than 11 years in real estate sales, Mary Sparkes has joined the team, to broaden and enhance the services offered by the property management specialists.
Director Leah Jay says that they see this as another important strategic move in terms of their growth and structure for the future.
“Apart from the added value to our clients, we see Mary’s work ultimately assisting us in securing our own asset, that being the properties under our management,” Leah said. “It also supports our brand asset by adding further to the services we provide. We retain our focus on property management but we deepen our engagement with property investors.”
Mary’s task is to assist clients’ efforts to maximise their investment and ongoing yield. This includes people who are looking to invest in property for the first time, clients wanting to add to their property portfolio or on the other hand, those considering divesting. Mary is able to help first time property investors with information and guidance, utilising the expertise and resources on hand at Leah Jay. Likewise owners who may be thinking of selling to realise their investment, can talk with Mary about the process and ways to achieve the best outcome. Mary will also support property managers working with owners to increase their yield through targeted improvements to their property. The underlying aim is to further help property owners to maximise the benefit from their investment, right through the investment lifecycle, from acquisition to divesting.
Mary says she was proactive about approaching Leah Jay as she saw them as market leaders and specialists within the industry.
“In other companies I worked for I’ve seen an ‘us and them’ mentality between sales and property management and have felt that not enough emphasis has been placed on the property management team and the landlord and their objectives,” Mary said.
Mary began her career in 2003 with Ray White. After a six-month traineeship she took on the position of sales agent. From 2005 Mary worked with Creer Property and established a successful sales career, becoming the most recommended agent in Charlestown. Mary brings to Leah Jay a thorough understanding of real estate sales, the industry in general and the local community and markets.
