Todd Gordon, owner of Elermore Vale-based Precision Fencing Newcastle, has been named the winner of the Young Achievers Award at the Fencing Industry Australia (FIA) Awards. The national title coincides with the business being named a finalist in the 2026 Hunter Business Excellence Awards in the Trade Category.
The FIA Young Achievers Award is an individual recognition presented by the industry’s peak body to professionals demonstrating skill and initiative within the trade. In addition to the individual win, the business was a national finalist in the FIA Pool Category, which evaluates excellence in pool fencing design and installation.
Precision Fencing Newcastle, which specialises in Colorbond steel, aluminium slat, and PVC fencing, services residential and commercial sectors across Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Maitland, and Port Stephens.
Todd said the national recognition validates the business’s commitment to quality standards within the local trade industry.
“To be recognised at a national level, competing against operators from across the entire country, is something I’m incredibly proud of,” Todd said.
“Every job we do, we approach with the same commitment — clean work, quality materials, and a result the customer is genuinely happy with. These awards are a reflection of that.”
The business is fully licensed under NSW Fair Trading and has been built within the Hunter region over the past several years. Todd noted that competing against established operators from across Australia highlights the capability of regional trade businesses.
“The Hunter Region is home, and this is where we’ve built everything from the ground up. To bring this recognition back to Newcastle means a great deal — not just for Precision Fencing Newcastle, but hopefully as a reminder that Hunter businesses can compete with anyone in the country,” Todd said.
The recent 2026 Hunter Business Excellence Awards nomination further acknowledges the firm’s growth and reputation within the regional construction and trade landscape. As the building industry in the Hunter continues to expand, local operators like Precision Fencing Newcastle are increasingly being recognised for their role in delivering infrastructure and residential improvements.
