KB Copywriting, a micro business founded by Founder and Senior Copywriter, Kerrie Brooks, marked 10 years in operation, supporting businesses in the Hunter and beyond with marketing communications. Kerrie runs the business from a Merewether Heights home office and delivers website content, blogs, brochures, video scripts, branding, and taglines.
Kerrie said the milestone reflected sustained client support and collaboration with local creative and marketing agencies.
“Reaching the 10-year milestone reflects the ongoing support of some great business partners and the trust clients place in my work,” Kerrie said.
“What I do involves understanding the market, aligning content with a client’s goals and personality, and producing copy that speaks to customers.”
Kerrie said the work combined copywriting and strategy, with search engine optimisation and prompt engineering now part of the skill set.
“It also involves being a creative strategist and bringing strong digital marketing skills, including search engine optimisation, to the table. And with the arrival of ChatGPT and other AI platforms, solid prompt engineering skills are now vital,” Kerrie said.
Before starting the business, Kerrie worked in communications for local government, was a copywriter and marketing executive for P&O Cruises in the UK, and freelanced for many years. Kerrie has written marketing communications for more than 20 years, across B2B and B2C industries including manufacturing, education, travel, technology, finance, law, food and beverages, and retail.
While KB Copywriting works with clients nationally and internationally, Kerrie said the Hunter remained central to the business.
“This is where my business grew up, and I’m proud to keep helping local organisations – as well as Australian and international brands – tell their stories and thrive,” Kerrie said.
