Hunter Young Professionals (hyp) is continuing to thrive following the recent announcement of local businesses, Wilton Lemke Stewart and Verve Partners signing on as Silver and Event sponsors in 2023.
Both businesses will be joining Major Partners, The University of Newcastle and Newcastle Permanent and event sponsor, Lambourne Partners in supporting hyp in 2023.
President of hyp, Danielle O’Neill said the Board is excited to have so many great local businesses and institutions supporting the not-for-profit organisation in 2023.
“We’re delighted to have secured an incredible line-up of sponsors so early in the year,” Danielle said.
“The Board is focused on producing high-quality events to align with our 2023 theme, ‘Thrive’, and having so many fantastic sponsors joining us this year means we can organise bigger and better professional and social opportunities for our members.”
hyp’s annual Comedy Night is returning at the end of May and is expected to be another sell-out event.
hyp’s Comedy Night has a stellar line up including Ivan Aristeguieta, Andrew Hansen, Jenny Tian, and Nick Capper.
The event will see the comedians take the stage at Bartholomew’s on Thursday 25 May, two days before the official Newcastle Comedy Festival begins at the Civic Theatre.
hyp Treasurer, Daniel Drayton said the hyp Comedy Night is always the most popular event for obvious reasons.
“We get to offer our members and local professionals a teaser into the Newcastle Comedy Festival while providing an opportunity to network and relax at a mid-week event,” Daniel said.
As with all hyp events, $1 from every ticket will go towards supporting their charity partner, which in 2023 is Dress for Success.
“Our Comedy Night is always one of our most popular events and is a great contributor to our fundraising for our charity partner,” Daniel said.
“We’re hoping that with the great lineup of comedians, we can have a sell-out event with our highest attendance ever.”
hyp’s annual Comedy is being held at 5:30 pm on Thursday 25 May at Bartholomew’s.
