This year’s Hunter Region Business Excellence Awards showcased the extraordinary achievements of local businesses.

The Gala Dinner was a night filled with anticipation, as the region’s finest entrepreneurs gathered to honour their outstanding accomplishments and recognise the Hunter’s best.

These awards provide a platform for the Hunter region to showcase some of the most innovative, successful, and inspiring businesses. Once again, this year’s awards have had an impressive number of entries from businesses across the region.

Among the list of winners was Beam Bookkeeping, who took home the award for Customer Service, Whole Business.

The Awards night was hosted at the Cessnock Leagues Club over a formal dinner, with almost 70 businesses in attendance.

Beam Bookkeeping Director, Deb Mirisch said to be recognised among such a resilient and impressive community of businesspeople was very humbling and she felt honoured to receive the award.

“The team has seen quick growth in the region since their merger in 2021 and have placed a large focus on their Customer Service Standards over the last 12 months.”

“We see this award as the ultimate recognition of who Beam are and what the team has been striving for.

“One of our values is ‘We Care’ and it is a focus point in everything we do at Beam.”

Beam Bookkeeping Managing Director, Katie McCool said their team’s combined expertise is the reason they could walk away winners at this year’s event.

“The combined skills of the team have paved the way to an expanded and diverse network for actively sourcing new clients, especially through partnerships with accounting firms and community involvement,” Katie said.

“The aim overall is to be continually identifying and pivoting with the market, our clients and technology, all whilst living our values.

“We are more proactive, more organised and if we could pick one keyword for the past 12 months, it would be Intentional.”
