Hunter Region Business Enterprise Centre (BEC), Austraining Business Institute and Hunter Digital Enterprise have collaborated to deliver 10 free training workshops.
The workshops will cover areas including digital marketing, organisational web presence, using social media effectively for business and planning your online presence.
Participants will also learn how to use the internet to keep in contact with their teams, as well as using the internet effectively to find candidates and recruit new employees.
BEC Manager, Kerry Hallett, said they have been working with the SME and NFP sectors of the Hunter for over 20 years and these workshops are a way to continue to help them to continue to thrive.
“This century we will see faster broadband speeds, particularly with the NBN and other advancing technologies,” Kerry said.
“Now consider the fact that just over 30 per cent of the SME sector has a web presence and just over 20 per cent use the web to place their orders, and 41 peer cent of all businesses receive orders via the web.”
“The market for products is no longer only in the town the business operates, but interstate or even international. These workshops will help organisations compete with businesses from around the world.”
The two-hour workshops will be held in Kurri Kurri and Newcastle, commencing in on 1 October in Kurri Kurri and 8 October for Newcastle.
Each subsequent workshop will be the following fortnight. Participants can register for the full series of 10 workshops or only register for the ones that interest them. There’s also up to four hours free one on one mentoring available to help organisations personalise materials for their business and set up their online presence.
