Hunt Hospitality’s Chief Financial Officer announced as Finalist at State Industry Rising Star Awards

Newcastle-local and young leader, Meghan Coyne has been named an Industry Rising Star finalist in this year’s Australian Hotels Association Awards.

This award is designed to recognise a hotel employee who has displayed professional excellence within the industry.

The individual award is judged on ongoing training undertaken by the individual, commitment to the industry, ambition, and career aspirations.

Beginning her career behind the bar at The Kent Hotel, Meghan said she was always enthusiastic about venue operations and had the goal of developing a strong behind-the-scenes understanding of what it takes to makes pubs successful.

Now employed as Hunt Hospitality’s Chief Financial Officer, Meghan said her career success story was built upon the unique and fast-paced character of the hospitality industry and her ability to combine two very different worlds.

“I am really excited to be a listed contender for this award alongside so many inspiring hospitality leaders,” Meghan said.

“For some, a job at your local pub serves as a stepping stone for alternative career paths. I am honoured to be just one example among many of the career possibilities that can occur within this growing industry.”

Meghan is being recognised for consistently improving operational profit targets through government incentive implementation and operational know-how, achieving exceptional results for the group.

As a respected hospitality all-rounder, she has a proven track record for contributing to innovative ideas and solutions that impact hotel operations and the bottom line.

Beyond these accolades, Meghan said her colleagues describe her as a highly regarded team member and esteemed friend to her colleagues, positioning her as a highly respected young and influential leader.

Award winners will be announced on Tuesday 31 October 2023, at Randwick Racecourse at the state’s AHA Awards event.
