Hunter based firms have gained traction in the Australian Financial Review’s Top 100 Accounting and Advisory Firm listing.
Big firms such as Pitcher Partners, PKF and PwC have held top ranks in 2018’s sought-after rankings. Local firm, Prosperity has also claimed one of the top spots, ranking 34th this year.
Prosperity’s revenue was up 10.4% on the prior year. This compares to overall growth in the wider industry of 1.5% for 2018 – estimated by research group IBIS. The firm has also increased its leadership team by four, a team that is made up of 44% women. This compares to the overall average of female partners for Top 100 firms coming in at just 14%.
The Australian Financial Review Top 100 Accounting Firms for 2018 reveals a jump in the percentage of Top 100 firms that reported advisory is the fastest growing part of the business. More than 80 percent of firms in the list nominated business, tax and advisory services as among their fastest growing divisions.
Another trend is the increasing awareness of data, driving the need for firms to focus more on analytics to deliver management insights and guidance to guide growth. Accounting firms are seen more and more as growth accelerators rather than the traditional compliance service provider.
Commenting on the achievement, CEO Allan McKeown said it’s an exciting time for the accounting and financial advisory professions.
“Prosperity has a wide range of change projects underway as we transition ourselves to be an advisory firm of the future,” Allan said.
“Our Top 100 ranking affirms our success in performing while transforming and augurs well for the future of our firm and our ability to meet the changing needs of our clients and team members.
“We thank our valued team, clients and friends of the firm for their continued support.”
