Showing their commitment to harnessing the talent of local young professionals, Ampcontrol has welcomed 16 new starters to the business who are about to either start a trade apprenticeship or roles as a graduate engineer.
As a business that takes pride in encouraging and celebrating collaboration and creativity, Ampcontrol has focused on helping local young professionals to kick start their careers, without having to leave the Hunter region.
The new team members and their families were welcomed into the business at a morning tea hosted by CEO of Ampcontrol, Rod Henderson at their office in Tomago.
Rod said providing opportunity is at the heart of the business.
“As a business, we are deeply committed to providing meaningful career pathways,” Rod said.
“We’re so excited to welcome a new group of apprentices and graduates to the Ampcontrol family and to see how they will grow and progress.”
The apprentices selected to join Ampcontrol cover a range of trades from electrical to electronics and made the final cut after a rigorous, multi-stage selection process. Candidates were evaluated on aptitude and their attitude and ability to problem solve and collaborate.
The final group of young people will be guided by experienced and skilled tradespeople from across Ampcontrol’s Hunter manufacturing operations.
The apprentices were joined by a small group of exceptional graduate engineers who will participate in Ampcontrol’s Graduate Rotation Program. Developed to provide new engineers with exposure to Ampcontrol’s multi-discipline technical teams, graduates will learn everything from substation design to developing underground communications systems for tunnelling.
The recruitment of 16 young minds comes just after the Hunter-based engineering and manufacturing company celebrated its 50th year in business, having grown its service base across multiple markets and launched new technology to benefit its clients in 2018.
