Roger Langsdon, of Planet Innovation, will again be part of the Rippler Effect program which will launch its seventh round in Newcastle in August.
The Rippler Effect is a programme designed to inform and inspire entrepreneurs to implement design thinking and innovation through a series of workshops and special guest presentations from experts within the innovation industry.
One such expert is Roger Langsdon of Planet Innovation – one of the regular winners and place getters in the Australian Financial Review Most Innovative Company awards and a passionate member of the innovation community in Melbourne.
Roger said he will call on his experience in the innovation industry to guide local entrepreneurs to identify opportunity and generate innovative ideas.
“I tend to focus on innovation, design thinking, how to build a culture of innovation and how to apply innovation in a way that has impact on your business,” Roger said.
“Companies face a real range of challenges, particularly small companies, and it is unfair to expect one person, or if it is a small company of two or three people, to have all of those skills to be able to face that, so I think the Rippler Effect program allows people to compensate for areas where they are not naturally strong.
“To run a successful small business you need to be an all-rounder and you have to be able to do a lot of different things. Not everyone is that rounded, so I think Rippler gives you that opportunity to fill in those gaps.”
The Business Centre will curate the event. CEO of the Business Centre, Pierre Malou said the program is currently looking for its next cohort of participants who are looking to take a deep dive into the next stage of their business journey with the guidance of industry experts like Roger.
“The Rippler Effect will teach you how to look at the world differently and to innovate. Based on design thinking, Rippler will show you how creative processes can help you apply human-centred principals to solve problems in a creative and innovative way on projects, in business and in our everyday lives,” Pierre said.
The Rippler Effect was designed and will be led by Christina Geritakeys of UtopiaX, who is extremely proud of the outcomes from previous Rippler cohorts.
“We have seen fantastic products developed, projects implemented and businesses grow through the program,” Pierre said.
“We are very much looking forward to seeing how the next group of exciting Hunter entrepreneurs grow and how their businesses mature and succeed during and after their time in Rippler. We can’t wait to see the Rippler Effect again.”
