Recently launched, Parcel of Plenty is delivering parcels of fresh meat, dairy, eggs, fruit and vegetables to homes in Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, and Maitland.
Born with a mission to provide Hunter households access to the same quality ingredients usually reserved for restaurant chefs, the business delivers families with better food at prices that won’t break the bank.
Parcel of Plenty has been gathering quite a following from locals who appreciate thoughtfully-sourced, restaurant-quality food all while supporting local producers.
The business is the brainchild of chef, former-restaurateur, and local food fanatic, Babak (Bob) Abbaszadeh – known to many as Persian Bob.
Having spent years behind the pass of many commercial kitchens, including his hugely popular restaurants The Persian Place and The Residency Kitchen.
“I know the difference that restaurant quality produce can make, and I know there are plenty of Novocastrians who prefer to cook with that sort of good food,” Bob said.
“Plus, Newcastle people are always keen to support local, Aussie producers, so I pulled out my chef’s little black book and gathered my favourite suppliers to create Parcel of Plenty.”
The idea behind the business is to provide the highest quality, thoughtfully sourced food direct to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, and Hunter households.
“It’s for the foodie who wants to cook and eat restaurant quality ingredients at home! They can bypass the supermarkets and get better food, for better value and support local producers at the same time.”
“We offer a range of products for sale in our online store, including pre-picked parcels for households to have their weekly staples for the best value possible.
“You can order a one-time purchase or set-up a weekly delivery which will give you an extra weekly discount of 5 per cent off the normal price”.
Parcels include products from a range of premium local suppliers including Hunter Valley Premium Meats, Cape Grim Beef, Bass Strait Beef, Jack’s Creek Wagyu, Pukara Estate Premium Lamb, Alexander Downs Pork, Murray Valley Pork, The Local Yolk, Newcastle Markets, Little Big Dairy Co., Hunter Belle Dairy Co., Red Funnel Fisheries, and Glitch Coffee Roasters.
