Having recently moved into the region, North Construction & Building is already making a big impact on the local industry.
North Construction & Building received three awards at this year’s MBA Excellence in Building Awards Newcastle. St Bede’s Catholic College, Chisholm won Best Public Building ($6m-$12m); the Tuggerah Regional Sporting & Recreational Complex won most Efficient Use of Water; and North’s own Nelson Florimo won Commercial Apprentice of the Year.
North’s achievements over September didn’t stop there. The company was named 2018 Medium Employer of the Year at the 2018 NSW Training Awards on 12 September. These awards, conducted by Training Services NSW, recognise students, trainers/teachers, training organisations, and large and medium employers for their standout achievements in the vocational education and training sector.
Director, Matthew Cook said the awards are a major win for the business.
“It recognises our dedication to our people and our continuous efforts to be both Commercial Builder of Choice and Employer of Choice for the Central Coast, Newcastle and Hunter Valley regions,” Matthew said.
To better serve their employees and clients in the Hunter Valley, North established an office in Broadmeadow this year. The new location at Level 1, 163 Lambton Road, is positioned next door to the Master Builders Association of Newcastle and the Hunter Business Chamber – both of which North is a member.
Managing Director, Tim Cornish said he was delighted to announce the opening of their new Broadmeadow office.
“This new facility is well located allowing us to strengthen current relationships, develop new connections and involve ourselves directly in the local community,” Tim said.

North’s new Newcastle office, combined with the awards they have received over the past week, further confirms their position in the local commercial construction space.
