NGM Group, the customer-owned organisation behind Greater Bank and Newcastle Permanent, announced a partnership with Newcastle-based fintech Grocerize to support households across the Hunter and beyond. The collaboration aimed to help families manage rising grocery bills by offering tools to compare supermarket prices and highlight savings.
Grocerize was founded by Newcastle local Blake Bennett, who developed the platform to make weekly shop planning easier and more cost-effective. Blake said partnering with NGM Group marked a milestone for the business.
Grocerize had focused on solving a common household challenge, Blake said.
“We spent years developing the platform to make it simple and effective for households. To now partner with NGM Group, an organisation with deep roots in this region, is exciting. It means we can put the tool into more hands and scale a local idea into a solution that makes a difference,” Blake said.
NGM Group Chief Customer and Digital Innovation Officer, James Cudmore said the partnership backed local innovation delivering value for families.
“As a customer-owned organisation, we want to support local innovators solving real problems for families. Grocerize is a Hunter-born solution to a national challenge,” James said.
“For our customers, this means uncovering savings each week at the checkout and turning them into bigger financial wins.”
As part of the partnership, eligible new and existing Greater Bank and Newcastle Permanent customers were offered a free six-month subscription to Grocerize Premium, providing access to features designed to optimise the weekly shop. Terms and conditions applied.
