Newcastle Permanent Board welcomes new Directors

Newcastle Permanent has welcomed two new non-executive Directors, announcing the appointment of Karina Kwan and Nicki Page to its Board last week.

Karina Kwan and Nicki Page bring with them board experience and expertise in financial services, digital transformation and technology respectively.

Newcastle Permanent Building Society Chair, Jeff Eather, said the appointments recognised the depth of their qualifications, experience and ability to contribute to the strategic direction and governance of Newcastle Permanent.

This decision comes as part of a continual goal to exceed customer expectations now and into the future.

Jeff Eather expressed he was thrilled to be welcoming these women to the board.

“On behalf of the Board of Directors, I’m delighted to welcome Karina and Nicki to Newcastle Permanent,” he said.

“Karina has 30 years’ experience in the financial services industry with expertise in banking, financial markets and risk governance and is a Fellow Certified Practising Accountant.

“Nicki offers extensive board experience and her expertise in digital transformation and technology will be a valuable asset as we continue to navigate through vast changes in the financial services industry.

Jeff said that the new additions will be an instrumental part of Newcastle Permanent’s ongoing commitment to enhancing services for customers.

“The Board’s role is to govern Newcastle Permanent and assist in enhancing and protecting the long-term value for its customers.

“Board renewal is vital to our success and I am confident Ms Kwan and Ms Page’s combined skills will complement the existing depth and diversity of skills and experience of our other Directors,” he said.

The appointments have been made following an extensive national recruitment process.

Karina and Nicki join other Directors Jeff Eather (Chair), Ross Griffiths, Margie Haseltine, Jennifer Leslie, Samantha Martin-Williams and Phil Neat.
