Mai-Wel expands into Singleton to strengthen Upper Hunter employment pathways

Mai-Wel has opened a new site in Singleton to increase access to disability support, employment services and community programs across the Upper Hunter. The facility at 13 Campbell Street was officially launched on Wednesday, 25 March 2026, marking an expansion of regional service delivery for the organisation.

The expansion follows growing demand for inclusive employment outcomes in the region. The site provides a hub for programs including Inclusive Employment Australia, Parent Pathways and Transition to Work, which offer integrated support for young people and job seekers.

Chief Executive Officer, John Cleary said the Singleton site is designed to create pathways for people to build skills and move into employment.

“Across the Hunter, we continue to see untapped talent. Singleton is an important step in connecting that talent with opportunity,” John said.

“The site is about more than services. It is about creating pathways for people to gain confidence and move into community participation.”

The launch included a keynote from CEO of Huntlee Academy and Mai-Wel Employer Ambassador, Belynda Davies. Belynda highlighted the practical impact of inclusive employment within her organisation and the importance of long-standing regional partnerships.

Area Managers, Jane Hill and Racheal Blaxell introduced the local programming, which includes NDIS services and community participation programs designed to build capability. The launch featured demonstrations from the creative pathways and parent pathways teams, while the Mai-Wel social enterprise, Thrive Catering, provided refreshments for the community event.

The Singleton facility aims to support individuals, families and employers by providing a central location for disability and vocational support. By establishing a permanent presence in the Upper Hunter, the organisation intends to build stronger connections between local job seekers and regional industry.

Individuals and employers seeking more information regarding the NDIS services and employment pathways available in Singleton can contact Mai-Wel directly.
