Laing+Simmons open their first office in Newcastle

Laing+Simmons earlier this month opened their first office in Newcastle, with the previous team known as Nest Realty Group embarking on their next phase of growth under the new boutique brand.

Local real estate veteran, Michael Barber, is leading the team at Laing+Simmons Newcastle with growth and recruitment on the agenda.

He’s joined by Angela Barber, a highly experienced financial planner, and sixteen-year local residential sales expert Luke Searles.

Formerly operating under the well-known independent brand Nest Realty Group, a local fixture in Charlestown for many years, Michael and the team have rebranded to Laing+Simmons to facilitate their next phase of growth while maintaining the customer focus that has been the hallmark of success for the family business.

The Charlestown location was a strategic choice for the evolving company said Michael, Director of Laing+Simmons Newcastle.

“In Charlestown specifically, we’re typically seeing around 300 properties transacting each year. This is perhaps Newcastle’s growth heartland at present. We’ve seen new developments spring up along the Pacific Highway corridor in recent years and there’s more to come,” Michael said.

“It’s part of the reason we’ve aligned with a network with a specialist project marketing division. We see a major opportunity for growth and our new brand will help facilitate this, as we’re able to add additional value to our customers through the property lifecycle, from off- the-plan sales through to new-builds and re-sales of established homes.”

With a strong population growth in Newcastle and connected suburbs, the housing market demands are reflecting a return to long-term growth trends, according to Michael.

With room for growth and development, Laing+Simmons Newcastle office is also looking to expand to meet the local demand.

“We are actively seeking talented new people to join our ranks at this exciting time, particularly sales experts keen to embark on a new journey with a cutting-edge brand,” Michael said.

Laing+Simmons Network Growth Manager, Travis Wentriro, said establishing a presence in Newcastle has been a priority for the group.

“Newcastle has been on our radar for expansion because of its position as one of the country’s most important regional growth markets. But we needed to find the right team whose principles and experience matched our family business culture,” Travis said.

With Michael and Angela running the operation at Newcastle, Travis said the Laing+Simmons office is in good hands.

“Laing+Simmons is pursuing an organic expansion agenda. We’ve never been about growth for growth’s sake. We make a point of working only with top local operators who want to grow an asset for the future. We are pleased to welcome Laing+Simmons Newcastle Central to the fold,” Travis continued.

The new office is located at 198 Pacific Hwy, Charlestown NSW 2290.
