Local roastery brings café-style coffee to work

One of the quickest and tastiest pick-me-ups that local professionals rely on each day is coffee. Employees and employers alike will often prioritise coffee before work, on the way to work, first thing at work or when the afternoon low kicks in.

Newcastle’s first roastery, Peaberrys Coffee Roasters has announced a new concept that will bring café-style coffee to workplaces across the Hunter region.

Founder and Head Roaster, Adrian Rigon said the business has launched a new Peaberrys Coffee Roasters At Work program to allow all workplaces, whether inner-city or in industrial areas, to access good quality coffee.

“Coffee is so much more than just a drink. It’s connected to special moments and memories, improves productivity, brings people together and helps to create a happier, stress-free working culture,” Adrian said.

“Our Peaberrys Coffee Roasters At Work program will allow businesses to benefit from a high-tech yet user-friendly, automatic Franke coffee system with the capabilities to create delicious, café-style coffee for staff to enjoy at an affordable price.

“Matched with an ongoing coffee, training and supply service designed to suit the needs of each business, simplifying coffee at work for happy business owners through to team leaders and hard working staff.”

Sales Manager for Peaberrys Coffee Roasters, Dan Grey said the program will also reduce productivity lost to staff coffee outings during the day and provide for businesses located in isolated areas, where quality coffee isn’t just a quick walk away.

“It’s not uncommon for staff members to go searching for a quality coffee fix in the morning and afternoon in one day, or queue outside at a coffee van,” Dan said.

“While this might only add up to 15minutes taken from the regular work day, lost productivity adds up to 60hours per person per year.”

Peaberrys Coffee Roasters recently refurbished their site in Islington to an open plan, coffee cellar door, inviting people in to see the roastery experience from bean to cup.
