The 2025 Bean Counters Ball, one of the Hunter region’s largest and most anticipated events in the accounting social calendar, will take place on Saturday, 25 October 2025, at the Newcastle Exhibition and Convention Centre (NEX).
This annual event is a collaborative effort between local members of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ) and CPA Australia, bringing together the region’s professional community for an unforgettable evening of fundraising and celebration.
The 2025 event is being led by Chair Rebecca Brown (Manager, Finance Transformation at Hunter Water) and Co-Chair Daniel Drayton (Associate Director at SV Partners). Together, they will guide the event which has raised over $330,000 since its inception in 2011.
Joining the committee are Cameron Burns (PwC Australia – Treasurer), Jackie Marriott (PKF), Katie Tierney (PKF), Sarah Scott, Lana Black (Osborn Law), Marcus Rodrigs, Rhiannon Cameron (SWS Lawyers), Taylah Parker (PKF), and Natalie Montgomery (PKF), as well as Kate Taylor and Rene Urbanowicz from TAFE and Samaritans.
The funds raised through the event will support two vital charity partners: Samaritans and Hunter TAFE Foundation. All proceeds will directly benefit Samaritans Youth Accommodation in Newcastle and Maitland, providing safe housing for adolescents, and funding scholarships for students studying accounting or finance at Hunter TAFE.
“We’re incredibly passionate about supporting our charity partners, knowing that every dollar raised transforms young lives in our community,” Rebecca said.
Following last year’s successful arcade-themed event which raised over $30,000, the 2025 Ball will feature a garden party extravaganza. Attendees can expect a three-course meal, live entertainment, and inspiring speeches from individuals who have received critical support from the charity partners during tough times.
“These funds help provide stability, guidance, and hope for young people facing homelessness, family breakdown, or financial hardship,” Daniel said.
In addition to the evening’s entertainment, guests will have the opportunity to participate in raffles and lucky dips, with various prizes up for grabs to further support the cause.
“The generosity of the Hunter business community continues to amaze us,” Rebecca added. “Every ticket purchased and every donation made helps provide education pathways and safe housing for young people who need it most.”
Tickets are available now through the Bean Counters Ball website.
