As part of International Women’s Day celebrations across the region this month, Gen Collective and Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) Australia’s Newcastle and Hunter branch have joined forces to bring notable guest speaker, Jessica Rowe, to Newcastle.
Jessica Rowe will address the International Women’s Day event and speak about her career, life as a working mother and her work in mental health advocacy.
KOFM’s Tanya Wilks will MC the luncheon at Merewether Surfhouse on Wednesday 22 March, which is expected to attract 200 people.
Jessica Rowe is one of Australia’s best-known television presenters. She began her career in 1993 and has held various positions at all three commercial television networks, including a decade as co-anchor of Network Ten’s First at Five News.
Since November 2013, Jessica has co-hosted Studio10 on Network Ten each weekday morning with Sarah Harris, Joe Hildebrand and Ita Buttrose.
On Australia Day 2015, Jessica Rowe was honoured with a Member of the Order of Australia for her long commitment to mental health advocacy and her 20-year career in broadcasting.
Gen Collective President, Jennifer Parkes, said the event was all about bringing people together from across the Hunter to celebrate the important contribution of women to the workforce.
“Together with the Hunter and Newcastle CPA community, we wanted to bring a diverse range of people from the business and wider community together to celebrate the role of women in the workforce, and inspire people to consciously check in on how they and their businesses are actively promoting parity, inclusiveness and diversity in their organisations,” said Jennifer.
“We are also thrilled that with the support of local business sponsors, we have been able to bring a high calibre speaker like Jessica Rowe to the Hunter,” she said.
