The Business Centre has announced the appointment of two new additions to their Board of Directors, Stephen Barr and Frank Herb.
The appointments follow Ed Crawford’s resignation after four years of service to the centre. The vacancy has seen Stephen and Frank join the board to assist The Business Centre in achieving its strategic direction moving into the new year.
Stephen Barr, Director of Barr Property and Planning Pty Ltd, has contributed to the development industry since 1992 and works with clients to combine strategic thinking with practical planning advice.
His strong interest and involvement in the affordable housing sector has guided his vision to encourage businesses to make positive social contributions that help support other socially aware organisations.
Stephen’s in-depth knowledge of Newcastle’s local business community and his business ethics make him an important addition to the board.
“It is a pleasure and a privilege to join the Board,” Stephen said.
“I am really looking forward to working with an organisation like The Business Centre, which assists people to deliver on their goals and aspirations, and which provides economic development and employment opportunities across the Hunter and beyond.”
Stephen is joined in the appointment by Frank Herb, a seasoned professional manager with over thirty years of experience in the information technology arena.
Frank’s ability to support transition and change has underpinned many of the successes in his professional life and The Business Centre has welcomed him as an asset to the Board of Directors.
This year has seen Frank join a major financial institution to manage their IT strategic program, where his personal objective is to introduce new and more flexible approaches to delivering significant IT projects to the organisation.
Stephen and Frank join Chairperson Janice Knowles, Damien Harvey, Bob Purser, Janelle Kirk, Sandra Gilshenan, Derek Eube, Warwick Gilbertson and Vince Stanton on The Business Centre Board of Directors, each playing an important role as the centre looks forward to 2018.
