They are the heart and soul of our community and all through March, for Small Business Month, The Mutual Bank proudly put the spotlight on local small businesses right here in the Hunter.
The Mutual Bank’s CEO, Geoff Seccombe, knows it’s been a tough couple of years for small business and was keen to help by being involved in the national ‘Go Local First’ campaign.
“Small business owners have faced unprecedented change, a raft of government regulations and financial strain in the past few years.”
“They’ve had to adapt, pivot and sometimes completely re-invent themselves to survive, all while continuing to employ more than half of the country’s workforce,” he said.
The Mutual Bank celebrated the resilience and contribution of Hunter small businesses throughout the month by inviting them to be involved in a social media campaign to encourage the community to shop local.
For the month of March, local small businesses were featured on The Mutual Bank’s Facebook page as part of the ‘Go Local First campaign’ run by the Council of Small Business Organisations Australia in partnership with the Customer Owned Banking Association (COBA).
“As a member of COBA we are proud to be a part of the campaign showcasing local small business.”
“We have shared the stories of Hunter businesses to show what’s right here on our doorstep. Small Business Month may be over, but you can still support this campaign by choosing to shop local to support local business, employment, and communities,” Geoff said.
The Mutual Bank is here to help local business in the Hunter.
