Business Singleton has announced the finalists for the 2026 Singleton Business Awards, highlighting local enterprises demonstrating operational growth, innovation, and community contribution. Now in its 38th year, the annual awards program has undergone a structural revision to focus exclusively on achievements that support the social and economic wellbeing of the Singleton local government area.
The corporate field spans several categories, including micro, small, and large business excellence, professional services, and community collaboration. Among the shortlisted contenders in the Excellence in Large Business category is ready-mix concrete supplier Daracrete, alongside engineering firms and service providers operating across the Upper Hunter.
Daracrete’s finalist placement follows the launch of its new batch plant at Mount Thorley. The facility expanded regional concrete supply chain capacities for infrastructure and civil construction projects while generating local employment and training opportunities. The company also collaborated with Singleton Council and Business Singleton on the “Consider a Career in Singleton” workforce strategy.
Operations Manager at Daracrete, Cheslyn Africa said the nomination acknowledges the team’s initial 12 months of production at the Mount Thorley site.
“We’ve worked hard to build a meaningful presence in the Hunter Valley, and to receive this recognition off the back of our first year at Mount Thorley is incredibly rewarding,” Cheslyn said.
“It’s a great reflection of what the team has achieved, and we look forward to continuing to invest and grow with this community.”
