The Business Organiser is celebrating their 10th year in business by once again winning the Accountant industry category in the Port Stephens Annual Business Awards 2015.
It is the third time The Business Organiser has been recognised as ‘best in category’ for Port Stephens, having won the same award in 2011 and 2012.
Managing Director, Deb Laut, said this award was a result of many passionate small business clients who have supported TBO over the past 10 years and her dedicated staff members, Kylie Duffy and Jacqui Emanuel.
“You could say we’re on ‘cloud 10’,” Deb said. “What a way to mark this milestone birthday and to recognise the hard work, skills and enthusiasm of my team.
Deb began The Business Organiser as a sole trader in 2005. The goal since the business started was to provide a professional bookkeeping service to assist small-to-medium business owners in Port Stephens and Newcastle.
The advent of cloud computing changed the way businesses operate. Deb recognised this opportunity and attributes her business’s ongoing success to keeping ahead of the trends in this revolutionary technological development. In particular, the implementation of Xero Accounting Software, which The Business Organiser adopted four years ago, becoming a Xero Gold Partner.
“You no longer need to wait to do a monthly or quarterly reconciliation,” Deb continued. “Businesses can access accounting information instantly. It provides quality data and enables workflow, it is proactive not reactive, it allows invoice automation, various payment options and is scalable to link with software packages for specific industries.”
Deb says one of the most important aspects of The Business Organiser’s successful relationship with its clients is training.
“We found people are using the various accounting software packages but they are not getting the optimum results. We show businesses how to get the best out of their software and make the job easier. We can tailor the software to suit each business. So many people do not find it a chore any more ‚Äì in fact, they are enjoying the process.”
