Western Australia-founded industrial equipment manufacturer Swivelpole™ has expanded its national logistics footprint with the opening of its first east coast distribution hub in Newcastle. Scheduled to commence operations in August 2026, the facility transitions the company away from an exclusive West Australian dispatch model out of Mandurah, creating a centralised distribution node to service major industrial operations across New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria, and Tasmania.
The strategic site selection positions localised inventory closer to core mining, oil and gas, power generation, water treatment, defense, and heavy transport infrastructure projects. Holding stock in Newcastle reduces freight transport lead times, lowers interstate logistics overheads, and provides rapid-response dispatch capability for both scheduled plant shutdowns and critical maintenance outages across eastern Australia.
Beyond core warehousing and freight distribution, the Newcastle facility incorporates a dedicated pre-electrical assembly and testing division for industrial lighting systems. Under this service stream, lowering poles can be pre-configured with luminaires, mounting brackets, junction boxes, and associated hardware before dispatch. Each unit undergoes individual electrical testing and tagging, accompanied by a project-specific quality compliance register to streamline on-site installation and reduce specialist electrical labour costs during tight shutdown windows.
Director of Swivelpole™, Rob Pannekoek stated that establishing a physical operational base in Newcastle addresses accelerating demand for safer, DDA-compliant, and elevated work platform (EWP) independent maintenance systems.
“The opening of our Newcastle distribution centre is a significant milestone for Swivelpole™ and reflects our long-term commitment to customers across the eastern states,” Rob said.
“We’ve experienced strong growth in these markets over recent years, and establishing local inventory allows us to respond faster, reduce freight costs and provide an even higher level of service. As more organisations invest in safer maintenance practices and modernise ageing infrastructure, we’re investing in the capability needed to support that demand. We’re excited to become part of the Hunter Valley community and look forward to supporting customers across eastern Australia for many years to come.”
Swivelpole’s lowering pole systems allow luminaires, CCTV cameras, communications receivers, and weather monitoring hardware to be safely pivoted down to walkway level. By eliminating the necessity for ladders, scaffolding, or cherry pickers during routine inspection and replacement cycles, the technology reduces site hazard profiles and recurring access costs across both greenfield builds and brownfield retrofits.
