She has been recognised for her in-depth knowledge and experience advising on commercial transactions, including share sales and purchases, corporate structuring and restructuring, business sales and purchases, and mergers and acquisitions.

Emma Gruschka, Local Managing Partner for Sparke Helmore’s Newcastle office said she’s really looking forward to seeing Sarah assisting clients with their commercial and corporate advisory work, including shareholders agreements, engagement terms and drafting or advising on a variety of commercial agreements.

“Sarah has a background in general litigation including debt recovery matters, employment law and property leasing which provides her with a well-rounded breadth of knowledge for our corporate and commercial clients,” Emma said.

“It’s always a pleasure to have a new face around the office and we are delighted that Sarah has joined us. She is an accomplished and dynamic addition to the team.”

Sarah has acted for a range of clients including SMEs, ASX listed companies and international conglomerates as well as start-ups across an expansive range of sectors including mining and commodities, energy, renewable energy, facility services, hotels and hospitality, professional services, financial services, engineering, manufacturing, construction, transport and logistics, education, technology, IT, media, retail, telecommunications and FMCG.

Sarah said she is eager to upskill and be exposed to a range of experts within the firm from a variety of practice areas to help her to consolidate and leverage her existing skillset and be able to be an even better lawyer for her clients.

“I am excited about my new role and the challenges that it will bring, including being involved in complex and high-value transactions for large multinational private and public companies while still servicing a range of SME clients in both the corporate advisory and transactional spaces I am used to working in,” Sarah said.

Julien Castaldi, National Practice Group Leader for Corporate & Commercial said that Sarah is well-known for her contribution to the Hunter community as a winner the Hunter Young Achiever Award 2022 and as a finalist in the Newcastle Business Club Awards (Youth Category) 2023.

“Sarah is a high-performing lawyer, having been recognised as a finalist in the Lawyers Weekly Senior Associate of the Year in 2022 and 30 Under 30 Commercial Law 2021, and we are thrilled that she has decided to join our team.”
