Hunter-based contractor SNL Building has entered into a regional partnership with Green Homes Australia to deploy energy-efficient residential construction frameworks across Newcastle and the broader Hunter region. The licensing agreement integrates Green Homes Australia’s thermal performance designs with SNL Building’s regional construction operations across residential, commercial, and civil sector projects.
The expansion targets growing consumer demand for reduced operational energy costs and improved thermal efficiency in single-dwelling residential builds. Green Homes Australia’s building models utilise passive solar design, high-performance insulation, and energy-conscious material specifications to lower artificial heating and cooling drawdowns. The designs also comply with baseline criteria for green mortgage products offered by participating Australian lending institutions.
Under the agreement, SNL Building will execute projects incorporating passive thermal principles tailored to local climate conditions, offering an alternative to standard volume builder project home specifications. Green Homes Australia previously secured international recognition at the National Association of Home Builders Global Innovation Awards, winning Global Home of the Year for its sustainable residential design standards.
Green Homes Specialist at SNL Building, Hartley Taylor stated that integrating specialised sustainable design principles addresses structural shifts in utility pricing and building compliance requirements across the regional housing market.
