A local partnership between Yoga Paws and Working Paws Dog Rescue has raised $650 for animal rehoming operations, bringing local participants together with foster carers and working dog puppies in Maryville. Held at Profile Studio on 22 August 2026, the dedicated charity event combined beginner-friendly floor movement with supervised puppy interaction. Working Paws specialises in rescuing, foster caring, and rehoming working dog breeds across regional New South Wales.
The event formed part of Yoga Paws’ broader Newcastle event schedule. Founded in Brisbane in 2024 by Harry McCann and Tea-Maria Constantin, the health and leisure enterprise has scaled operations across nine Australian cities. Standard 60-minute public sessions cost $59 per participant for attendees aged 12 and over, with specialised rescue collaborations structured separately to direct ticket proceeds to local animal welfare groups.
Between 4 July and 30 August 2026, Yoga Paws hosted 10 dedicated rescue sessions across five Australian cities, distributing $7,120 across five animal welfare non-profits, including Working Paws Dog Rescue. Animal welfare protocols during sessions include dedicated welfare supervisors independent of the yoga instructor, voluntary interaction zones, seated handling rules, full 60-minute rest breaks between groups, and veterinary-grade F10 studio disinfection.
Co-founder of Yoga Paws, Harry McCann stated that dedicated rescue events provide vital public visibility for local foster care and rehoming networks.
“The money matters, but so does the visibility, the socialisation and the chance to make rescue work feel hopeful rather than heavy,” Harry said.
