Sail Port Stephens returns for a month of sailing and community festivities

Port Stephens will once again come alive with the excitement of sailing and community celebrations as Sail Port Stephens returns next week for its 2025 series.

The month-long event will conclude with the Bay Series from 2 to 4 May.

Port Stephens Mayor Leah Anderson said the event continues to deliver both excitement and economic benefits to the region. “Port Stephens Council has proudly partnered with Sail Port Stephens since 2007, and it’s wonderful to see this event return year after year,” Mayor Anderson said.

“It’s always fantastic to see our shores buzzing with visitors, sailors and spectators from across Australia, all here to experience the natural beauty and vibrant community of Port Stephens.”

Mayor Anderson also acknowledged the ongoing support of Destination NSW and the NSW Government, which allows the event to reach a national and global audience.

“Sail Port Stephens is not only a world-class sporting event but also a valuable economic driver for our region. It delivers a welcome boost to our local businesses, including hotels, marinas, cafés, restaurants and shops.”

To complement the sailing action, Port Stephens Council will host a series of community events throughout the month.

Locals and visitors are also encouraged to visit the Locals Lounges for the best viewing experience, located at Soldiers Point on 3 May.
