PKF Sydney and Newcastle held its 19th annual Breast Care Breakfast at NEX on Thursday, 16 October 2025, raising $68,299 to support the Hunter Nurse Education Group and its specialist breast care nurse network. More than 470 attendees participated, highlighting sustained corporate and community backing for health workforce development across the region.
The business-led fundraiser continued a long-standing initiative driven by PKF’s local partners, clients, and suppliers. The event formed part of PKF’s wider community investment and corporate social responsibility program, focusing on locally delivered education that strengthens service capacity in the Hunter’s health sector.
Managing Director, Bob Bell said the event reflected the firm’s commitment to regional outcomes and stakeholder collaboration.
“Our clients, partners, and team backed this initiative again,” Bob said. “We are proud this breakfast has grown into a key date on our calendar, supporting practical education that benefits families and businesses across the Hunter.”
Funds raised will be directed to specialised education and development opportunities delivered by the Hunter Nurse Education Group. The program aims to lift capability through targeted training at no cost, ensuring services remain accessible and high-quality for local communities and employers.
The event featured a keynote from Terry Richards, who shared a personal experience and insights into local care. Attendees took part in a raffle, with more than $26,000 in prizes donated by business and community supporters.
PKF acknowledged speakers, sponsors, donors, volunteers, and guests for their contributions and confirmed planning had commenced for the 20th Breast Care Breakfast in 2026. The breakfast began as a local initiative in memory of Christine Tolcher, late wife of PKF Partner retiree, Ray Tolcher, and has continued with strong backing from the Hunter business community.
