Hunter-based workplace health and safety firm Red Insight has secured a major national business benchmark, winning the Trade Consultants category at the 2026 Australian Trades Small Business Champion Awards. The Rutherford-headquartered enterprise was named the top national performer during a formal industry presentation at the Sofitel Wentworth in Sydney on Saturday 27 June 2026.
The national evaluation process audited over 587 small-to-medium enterprise (SME) finalists operating across the retail, services, and industrial manufacturing sectors. An independent panel of corporate judges assessed entries against strict commercial key performance indicators, including long-term business strategy, financial performance trajectories, sustainable operations, localised innovation, and community capital contributions.
The recognition highlights the strength of the Hunter region’s specialised B2B service sector, which continues to capture market share by servicing complex industrial supply chains, infrastructure projects, and commercial construction pipelines.
Awards Founder and Managing Director of Precedent Productions, Steve Loe noted that the independent benchmarking framework validates strong executive leadership and corporate resilience within regional firms.
