Barr Property & Planning (BP&P) has expanded its team to meet a growing demand in planning and development expertise services. After opening the firm in July last year, Director Stephen Barr has announced the appointment of principal planner Kirsty Tepper.
Kirsty joins BP&P with a strong background in statutory and strategic planning. She has worked as a planner in both local government and private sectors and provides broad experience in strategic planning policy and development assessment across city and regional settings.
Kirsty’s previous involvement in private consulting covers a wide range of planning and environmental assessment projects including infrastructure, flood planning, community consultation, rezoning and master planning.
Her local government experience includes policy writing and development assessment, management of sub consultants, environmental studies, community consultation along with the exhibition and submissions process for a major city-wide Local Environmental Plan (Blue Mountains Draft LEP, 2004).
Kirsty is currently studying a Master of Economics and Regional Development where she is researching the impacts of economic change on regional economies, and the consideration of appropriate government responses to wider economic issues. She holds post-graduate qualifications in environmental law and an undergraduate planning degree.
Director Stephen Barr said that since opening the doors to business a year ago, planning and project work had grown beyond expectations requiring additional resources to keep up with demand.
“Kirsty brings solid experience and expertise to the firm, with her attention to detail and good advice already recognised by our clients,” Stephen said.
“Given the current level of development activity underway, this is certainly an exciting time to be working as a planner in our region.”
