Hosts of the Oversubscribed Podcast, Alana Nixon and Laura Jackel have joined forces for Season 7 of their award-winning podcast with Charlestown Square.
The duo are also celebrating two years of podcasting with their 100th episode of Oversubscribed.
Host, Laura Jackel said that the duo loves creating original content for thousands of women in the Hunter and beyond.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with Charlestown Square on Season 7 because we both love shopping and eating at the centre and we have recorded numerous episodes on fashion and beauty,” Laura said.
“Our predominantly female audience always respond well to these episodes, and we hope to use this collaboration to bring them plenty of new style tips, beauty advice, and special dining offers.”
Oversubscribed has previously collaborated with Charlestown Square’s Stylist, Natalie Baker on other projects including a fashion episode and a live podcasting event and fashion show at Lizottes in December 2020.
Charlestown Square Marketing Manager, Anna Whelan believes that this unique partnership is a wonderful way to collaborate with two local female creatives and connect with the community.
“We believe that Alana and Laura have done some amazing work over the past two years, and we look forward to supporting them and collaborating with Oversubscribed as their reach continues to grow,” Anna said.
Alana Nixon said winning the Best Influencer Award at the inaugural Newcastle Podcast Festival in February was a great way to kick off 2021 for Oversubscribed.
“We are proud of how we have continued to develop our podcast, from an idea we had one day at breakfast in January 2019, to where it is today,” Alana said.
“It’s not always easy either as we are busy raising our kids, working, and dealing with a pandemic!
“Laura and I are constantly sending each other messages and screenshots of ideas and we both work hard on scripting and recording episodes at night and over the weekend. It is a huge passion project for both of us.”
Episode 100 dropped on Saturday 26 June and Season 7 launched on Wednesday 14 July.
Seasons are eight weeks long and episodes are released twice-weekly.
Alana and Laura have been recording separately at home since the middle of 2020, making it the perfect COVID-safe business.
Topics to be covered this season aside include parenting hacks, cancel culture, women’s rights in 2021 and of course plenty of fashion and beauty tips thanks to Season 7 partners Charlestown Square.
