At the centre of this regional transition is Solahart Newcastle in Beresfield, which employs a 35-strong workforce of local installers, electricians, plumbers and roofers. On Friday 3 July 2026, the Beresfield team joined Solahart’s inaugural national Tradie Recognition Day, highlighting the pivotal role local tradespeople play in driving the Hunter’s clean energy transition and supporting household electrification.
The expansion of local trade capacity directly supports the Hunter’s broader economic resilience. By deploying integrated renewable energy systems, including solar panels, battery storage and energy-efficient heat pumps, local tradespeople are helping Hunter residents mitigate cost-of-living pressures while injecting capital directly back into the regional economy.
