The Australasian Law Awards have announced that Newcastle-based law firm, Nexus Law Group, has been selected as a finalist for the 2015 Boutique Law Firm of the Year Award.
The prestigious award recognises exceptional law firms with less than 100 lawyers who have demonstrated superior legal expertise and excellence in client service.
Nexus has been selected as one of the finalists, chosen from hundreds of law firms from across Australia and New Zealand.
The announcement marks a successful 12 months for Nexus, having expanded significantly throughout the Australian legal market. Nexus now has a sizeable presence in the Sydney CBD and has recently announced the opening of its Queensland operation.
The firm was named on the prestigious NexisLexis-Janders Dean Innovation Index last October.
Marcus McCarthy, founder of Nexus Law Group, says it the innovative structure employed by the Novocastrian firm that is driving its national growth.
“Nexus is an Australian first in that it uses a dispersed practice model,” Marcus said. This model turns the traditional law firm model on its head, allowing clients to access the very best legal advice more efficiently and more cost effectively than has previously been the case.”
“As a result, we are seeing an increasing number of clients from a range of industries seeking our services. Experienced lawyers from many of the country’s most prestigious firms are also coming on board, attracted by our groundbreaking approach to the practice of the law”.
Marcus says the accolade is good news for the Hunter legal industry.
“It is great to see a firm that started life in Newcastle being recognised alongside some of Australia’s oldest and best known legal players. It sends a message that the Newcastle legal community, and indeed wider business community, is marking it’s in national business circles.”
The winners of the Australasian Law Awards will be announced at a ceremony at the Shangri La Hotel, Sydney on 21 May, 2015.
