Headstrong Women, local specialists in women’s career development, is launching a new workshop specifically designed for professional women who are aged 40 to 50.
Founder of Headstrong Women, Lauren Maxwell, says that often as women approach their 40s, the careers that they began in their teens or early 20s may no longer provide the satisfaction or opportunity that they once did.
“In fact, many women begin to feel disempowered, and weighed down with the challenges that both work and life are presenting to them,” Lauren said. “We tend to reach a critical change point at around the age of 40. Many women approach me around this age about how to find more meaning and passion in what they do for work.”
“There are a number of complex life events happening around this age including ‘sandwiched caring’ for both older relatives and younger children, and a realisation that many decisions are now being made on a functional ‘needs only’ basis rather than taking into consideration our personal motivators. Women often describe that they feel like they are simply ‘going through the motions’, and would like to be able to take control and feel great again.”
Headstrong Women is launching a new workshop, the first in a new line of their specialist services, 40 and FABULOUS! Reclaiming my Career Mojo. It has been designed specifically to address common career issues facing women in the age group 40 – 50. Participants will learn how to effectively redefine their career goals and identify their unique areas of strength.
“This workshop is not simply for women who are looking for a new career pathway or are currently unemployed. It is for women who know that they could be getting more out of themselves and their career, but are not sure how to go about it,” Lauren concluded.
40 and FABULOUS! Reclaiming my Career Mojo will be on at Sydney on 23 September and in Newcastle on 29 October. Tickets are limited and available through Headstrong Women.
