Local HR specialist and educator, Philippa Woolf, has collaborated with lawyer and former NSW Police Assistant Commissioner, Lee Shearer, APM to launch a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) as part of their business, the Australian Centre for Investigation, Incident & Management Solutions (ACIM Solutions).
The establishment of the RTO provides an extension of the ACIM consultancy and creates an opportunity to develop and deliver high quality competency and non-competency training programs, for both the public and private sectors.
As experienced senior managers with extensive HR experience, both Philippa and Lee say they have shared the frustration of only being able to access generic training programs for team members, which failed to positively return on the significant training investment costs and offer tangible staff development outcomes.
“From personal experience I found that generic programs lacked meaningful tailoring to the organisation and that this approach failed to create the staff engagement or, the sustained and measurable learning outcomes organisations were seeking,” Philippa said.
“We are committed to developing quality programs that empower teams and add real value to the organisation. Now that we have the added benefit of delivering competency-based training as part of our own RTO we have greater scope to assist organisations to fulfil their team development goals.”
All of the programs offered by ACIM Solutions have personalised programs that target individual organisational needs, with close alignment to organisations’ policies and procedures. The courses have experienced facilitators with strong backgrounds in law, people management, risk management, investigation and HSE, with course content providing opportunities for participants to practically apply new skills,
“We were determined to create a registered training company that was flexible enough to truly recognise individual organisational needs and challenges and one that could tailor the content, delivery and evaluation processes accordingly,” Lee said.
“Course participants have responded very positively to our actual and current experience in the areas we deliver programs. We understand their working environments first hand and can contextualise the learning to those real life situations.”
ACIM Solutions have already delivered training programs to organisations and a range of business units from with the government sector, financial services, local government, mining, heavy industry and retail sectors.
