After 37 years of service, Greater Bank’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Greg Taylor, has handed over the baton. Taking it up is Bob Moffat.
Newcastle-born, Bob has returned to Australia after 20 years working overseas for two international banks in finance, strategy, treasury and capital management roles. He worked for Standard Chartered in the UK and Singapore and AmBank in Malaysia.
Bob has a Bachelor of Commerce and an MBA from the University of Newcastle. He has also worked for a global business advisory firm.
The father of three says he is enjoying being home.
“I was attracted to working for a bank that has such a clear business strategy and a focus on community,” Bob says. “Newcastle has a wonderful sense of community.”
Greater Bank CEO Scott Morgan welcomed Bob and paid tribute to Greg.
“I am really pleased to have someone of Bob’s experience and abilities to fill Greg’s shoes as we continue this important stage of our transformation to Greater Bank,” Scott said.
“I want to thank Greg for his tremendous service to our organisation and customers and wish him well in the next stage of his life,” he said.
Greg started his career with the Newcastle-based customer owned financial institution in internal audit. He has held a number of roles including a stint as the first Rutherford Branch Manager. He was appointed Chief Accountant (which became CFO) in 1986.
