Mullane & Lindsay lawyer, Ashley Stevens, has been announced as a Family Law Accredited Specialist.
“Mullane & Lindsay takes pride in having the most Family Law Accredited Specialists in one firm than any Newcastle or Hunter based law firm,” Head of the Family & Relationship Law team, Mark Sullivan, said.
The Law Society of NSW operates the Specialist Accreditation Scheme to help the general public identify solicitors who have demonstrated proficiency in a particular area of law.
Before gaining accreditation a solicitor must have practised full-time for at least five years, worked in their area of speciality for at least three years, and passed rigorous assessments in communication, problem solving, client relations and the law.
“I’m proud of not only my personal achievement in achieving specialist accreditation, but in contributing to our family law team at Mullane & Lindsay now being the most specialised family law team in Newcastle and the Hunter,” Ashley said. “I look forward to continuing to represent the best interests of our clients in their family law matters.”
Ashley joined the firm in 2010 and practices exclusively in Family Law. She is past secretary and current committee member of the Hunter Valley Family Law Practitioners Association, a member of the Newcastle Law Society and a member of the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia.
Mark Sullivan, became an Accredited Specialist 1994, Ashleigh John followed suit in November 2013, and now Ashley Stevens’ achievement is being celebrated as the third Accredited Specialist. Rose Laffan completes the family law team and she has a Masters of Law in Family Law.
