There’s plenty of love to go around with up to $100,000 on offer as part of Hunter Water’s Love Water Grants program.
Lower Hunter community groups, small businesses, and organisations can apply for a one off grant of up to $10,000 to support initiatives that promote water conservation, sustainability, and innovation.
Minister for Lands and Water, Kevin Anderson said applications were also welcome for projects that support local communities as a result of the ongoing challenges faced by COVID-19.
“We recognise that many in the Lower Hunter are still dealing with the impacts of the pandemic, as we adjust to living with COVID-19,” Kevin said.
“Hunter Water’s Love Water Grants program can assist those during these difficult times and provide added financial support where it’s needed most.”
Hunter Water Managing Director, Darren Cleary said the Love Water Grants has helped the community thrive and make smart water choices.
“We’ve been supporting the community with water conservation, environmental, and social awareness initiatives for more than 30 years, and our Love Water Grants has now grown into our flagship program,” Darren said.
“It’s always exciting to see the wide range of applications that come through. To date, we’ve been able help with irrigation pump upgrades, water tank installations, community garden overhauls and children’s education programs to name a few.
“We look forward to supporting more worthy projects in this year’s round of funding and encourage interested applicants to head to our website,” he concluded.
Applications are open until midnight, Monday 14 March.
