A new ticketing website, Populo, is offering a competitive solution for people selling tickets to events online.
Populo is the product of two locals, Nathan Baker and James Weakley, who built the software and designed the Populo site, launching it this month.
“The idea came about after I was selling tickets to an event online but wanted to be able to upload a seating plan so guests could allocate their seats,” Nathan said.
“I have experienced how much work it can be to coordinate seating at an event, and it’s often done at the last minute when event organisers are time poor.”
“We wanted to offer a solution that was easy to use and saved people some work so they can focus on creating a memorable event.”
People are at the centre of Populo’s brand, with the purpose of the site to make it easy to bring people together to enjoy an event.
“We’d like to encourage Newcastle and Hunter businesses, clubs and charities to support a local start-up and use Populo in 2016 for an easy online ticketing solution,” Nathan concluded.
Populo is the first software product for Nathan and James, who are experienced IT professionals and have worked in small and large organisations in Newcastle for 10 years.
