Two Maitland based Real Estate Agents are set to battle it out for The Mai-Wel Group’s fourth annual indoor sports challenge, Play-Wel for Mai-Wel.
Each year, 20 teams representing a variety of businesses battle it out in a round robin tournament of Netball, Soccer, Cricket and Volleyball to show their support for The Mai-Wel Group and to raise funds to provide opportunity and choice to people with a disability.
Local Real Estate Agents, Tony Cant and LJ Hooker Maitland are just two of the teams entered in this year’s sporting event and will be competing in an effort to be crowned the winner.
“To give up a day in the office and compete for the title is an honour and we advise all teams entering the challenge to bring their best game, as we are out to win!” said Todd Fisher, Managing Director LJ Hooker Maitland.
“It will be a fantastic opportunity for the LJ Hooker Maitland team to raise funds and awareness. Mai-Wel provides opportunities for people to work within the community and to feel part of that community.”
“We currently use Mai-Wel’s services, with PACE Setters providing hundreds of timber stakes for our LJ Hooker signboards each year”.
Peter Hogan, General Manger of Tony Cant Real Estate, welcomes the extra competition in this great event and says that the momentum for Play-Wel for Mai-Wel is gaining within the Maitland community.
“Tony Cant Real Estate is proud to support Play-Wel for Mai-Wel and has been doing so since it first began in 2010”, Peter said.
“I highly recommend local businesses get involved, play some sport and have some fun, in an effort to raise money for such an outstanding charity in our community”.
Following the event, teams will retire to the Bradford Hotel in Rutherford for a presentation ceremony.
