Boutique legal firm Jenkins Legal Services (JLS) has further strengthened its position with Legal Director Micah Jenkins welcoming property lawyer, Charmian Seil, to the team.
Charmian is an experienced property lawyer and skilled in a diverse range of property transactions. Her portfolio of work covers all property types including residential, commercial, rural, ‘off the plan’, strata title, community title, qualified title, old system title, company title and leasehold.
Prior to her admission as a lawyer in 2013, Charmian completed an Advanced Diploma in Conveyancing. As a result, Charmian has gained over 11 years’ transactional property law experience while working for both small and mid-tier firms in Sydney. In addition to her property law experience, she offers clients her knowledge and experience of commercial law; property litigation including strata title, landlord and tenancy, boundary, fence, tree and building defects disputes; banking and finance; debt recovery and wills and estates.
Charmian has appeared in various jurisdictions including the NSW Civil & Administrative Tribunal, Local Court, Supreme Court and the NSW Court of Appeal. She is currently completing her Master of Laws at the University of New South Wales.
“Charmian will provide expert guidance not only across all facets of property law but also commercial law matters,” Micah said.
After opening the firm in November last year, the appointments of Joanne Blanch as Executive Assistant and Paralegal and Louise Jenkins as Manager were announced in January.
“Since opening the doors late last year, work has grown beyond expectations requiring JLS to further expand to better meet the needs of our growing client base,” Micah said.
Joanne worked in the legal industry in the Hunter and on the Mid North Coast for more than six years before joining JLS. As Executive Assistant she brings to the team expertise in all areas of office administration and accounting while her experience in substantive paralegal work sees her support all areas of the firm’s client matters.
She is currently studying at Southern Cross University completing an Associate Degree in Law, majoring in Conveyancing and is working toward becoming a licensed conveyancer. Her legal experience with firms that include McDonald Johnson Lawyers, Emery Partners and Moray & Agnew is strengthened by her volunteer work offering expertise in finance and accounting with Newcastle Improvised Music Association and Newcastle Youth Orchestra.
A graduate of the University of Sydney, Louise Jenkins brings more than 12 years experience in the health and community sector into the role of JLS Manager. Louise is a qualified and highly experienced Pharmacist who managed a community pharmacy where patient/client focus was paramount. She also spent three years working in the UK where she was often pharmacist-in-charge of the dispensary as well as working across large multidisciplinary teams. No stranger to the legal sector having been surrounded by lawyers her entire life (father and husband both lawyers), at JLS Louise uses her organisation, communication and management skills to support the firm’s objective to provide superior client focused services and practices.
