In the next step for boutique development, Parry Grande, last week the DA was approved by Newcastle City Council, enabling the project to begin work.
Spearheaded by Whitehead Property Group, Parry Grande will feature a ground floor café and 30 residential apartments and associated basement level car parking, designed to appeal to people wanting to take advantage of inner city living
Whitehead Property Group Director, Chris Whitehead, said the DA approval process had been streamlined and timely.
“We were impressed with Newcastle City Council in their proactive approach to assessing this application, resulting in the timely assessment process within legislative timeframes,” Chris said.
This development is an example of local business collaboration, with planning and development consultancy, KDC, engaged to undertake the DA process. KDC Town Planner, Rachel Hodge, said that it had been a pleasure to work on a well thought out development project.
“We lodged lodged the DA on 11 August 2016 following extensive consultation with Newcastle City Council,” Rachel said. “The DA was publicly notified with any concerns raised being addressed throughout the assessment process.”
Another local business, multidisciplinary design practice, EJE Architecture, worked with Whitehead Property Group to design the luxury apartments.
“These apartments really combine the best of stylish design, with a focus on opening plan living, reflecting the free-flowing costal surrounds,” Chris continued. “We have integrated one, two, three and four-bedroom floor plans, to provide a range of choices for our buyers, ensuring each apartment has quality contemporary finishes. All apartments feature a balcony, with ground floor apartments designed with a private courtyard. We have also incorporated a landscaped community garden for residents to enjoy.”
First National Newcastle round out the local business collaboration, tasked with selling the highly enviable apartments, with only a few left to be sold.
Located across the road from No.1 Sportsground, the apartments will be close to retail and boutique shopping, sporting events, schools, cafes and restaurants.
Whitehead Property Group will soon appoint a builder, to undertake the next step for the development.
