PKF Australia has announced the appointment of local Managing Director, Steve Meyn, as Chairman.
Steve has brought stability to the group since its reincarnation in 2014, where he played an instrumental role as part of the Lawler National Alliance executive that reinvigorated the PKF name across Australia.
Coinciding with Steve’s new role as Chairman has been the appointment of Peter Cannan as CEO.
Steve said he looks forward to bringing to life a new vision for PKF and to continue the legacy alongside their new CEO.
“PKF is agile and easily able to respond to the market and client conditions, we proved that throughout COVID-19,” Steve said.
“We have a true understanding and respect for the SME market in which we operate. It’s time for us to enhance and leverage all that we have built, and I look forward to working with Peter to make that happen.”
Steve’s appointment to Chairman demonstrates the respect local firm, PKF Sydney and Newcastle has earned from its national and global counterparts.
This comes on the heels of Audit and Assurance Partner, Clayton Hickey, being named as the PKF International Global Chair of the International Professional Standards Committee.
“The capabilities of our firm and our people has enabled us to grow with the needs of not only our clients, but to expand the value we bring to our team in providing opportunities for professional development at a local, national, and international level,” Steve said.
Despite this appointment, Steve’s heart remains firmly in Newcastle and with his local clients.
It is working with them that keeps his finger on the pulse of the business community and allows him to lead PKF Sydney and Newcastle and PKF in Australia with authenticity and genuine care.
PKF Australia farewelled long-serving Chairman and CEO, Norm Draper after 11 years as he heads into retirement.
“Norm has built PKF Australia to be what it is today. Under his leadership we have achieved so much, established a strong foundation for the future and Peter and I are proud to be taking the reins from such a great person,” Steve concluded.
