Local businesses across the Hunter region have come together to support the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service, with the incredible McDonald Jones Homes (MJH) ‘Helicopter House’ project showcasing the power of community collaboration.
The home, built by MJH, is currently under Expression of Interest until December 2, with all proceeds from its sale, after project costs, going directly to the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service. Located in the heart of Avery’s Rise Estate in Heddon Greta, this initiative is set to make a meaningful impact by raising funds to ensure the vital service continues to save lives.
McDonald Jones Homes, CEO, Rob Douglas said Helicopter House is a testament to what our local community can achieve when we come together for a shared cause.
“Every step of the journey has been about helping Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service continue their lifesaving work, and we couldn’t be prouder to play a part,” said Rob. The Helicopter House, built in MJH’s popular Anchorage Two design with a Hampton’s façade, features contributions from numerous local businesses, all joining forces to bring this vision to life. From Hunter Land’s generous part donation of the block of land, to Jurds Real Estate providing their services pro bono, and certification supported by Buildcert, this project has drawn on the region’s collective strength.
Buildcert Residential Certification Manager, Dan Chapman, is proud to see the local community collaborate on such an important project. “It’s great to see so many local businesses rally behind a cause that saves lives within our community. At Buildcert, we’re proud to have played a small part in this project and to be standing alongside so many passionate contributors,” Dan said.
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service, which provides critical emergency support across the region, will benefit directly from the funds raised. Head of Community Engagement, Richard Jones, expressed his gratitude for the collaboration. “We are incredibly grateful for the support of McDonald Jones for the stunning home build and Hunter Land for their support,” Richard said.
