Hunter Surf Life Saving (HSLS) has announced today a new three-year sponsorship agreement with the operators of McDonald’s Restaurants in Newcastle and the Hunter.
In addition to securing the Patrol Uniform sponsorship, McDonald’s will also support Hunter Surf Life Saving’s community education campaign that includes the development of animated surf safety videos.
Hunter Surf Life Saving CEO, Rhonda Scruton said securing a long-term sponsorship with an organisation like McDonald’s provides much needed funds for the 13 clubs across the Hunter.
“We haven’t had a Patrol Uniform Sponsor for at least 5 years so it’s brilliant to have McDonald’s on board with the organisation and the new uniforms look fantastic,” Rhonda said.
“Our organisation doesn’t attract government funding, we generate our operational funds through fund raising and sponsorships.
“As any community organisation will tell you, securing sponsorship dollars is tough work, so I was blown away when the McDonald’s operators from Newcastle and the Hunter approached me about supporting Hunter Surf LifeSaving.
“This sponsorship from will not only provide new uniforms, it will provide funds for equipment and help us to continue with our community education surf safety program.”
Speaking on behalf of McDonald’s licensees from Newcastle and the Hunter,
Michael Feros said it is an honour to support a community organisation that does an amazing job of keeping our beaches safe.
“Hunter Surf Life Saving is a magnificent institution supported by a highly- dedicated group of volunteers. This is an exciting sponsorship for us and we look forward to working with Hunter Surf Life Saving over the next three years,” Michael said.
“When we began looking at this sponsorship earlier this year it became apparent how important surf safety education is and we want to ensure that community programs like this continue in our community.”
