The voice of Australia’s residential building industry, the Housing Industry Association (HIA) has announced the election of Sean Yeomans and Grant Williamson as HIA Hunter region President and Vice-President.
The announcement was made recently following the HIA Hunter Annual Meeting of Members.
HIA Hunter Executive Director, Crag Jennion, said the election occurs every two years.
“The HIA elections are an important means in which HIA members can volunteer to represent our broader membership on a range of important policy matters,” Craig said.
“Both Sean and Grant have sat on the HIA Hunter Regional Executive Committee for a number of terms and, as dedicated members, have volunteered their time to serve on both the HIA national service committees and the Hunter Regional Executive Committee,” Craig said.
Sean Yeomans is the Director of Kitchens for Living, a local kitchen designer, manufacturer and joinery company. Grant Williamson is the Managing Director of Winspace Constructions, a company that specialises in home extensions and renovations.
Sean and Grant will now lead a 12 member regional executive committee that covers an area from the Mooney Mooney Bridge on the Central Coast, to Forster and Tuncurry in the north, and as far west as Scone and Merriwa.
Sean said he is looking forward to the role.
“I have thoroughly enjoyed my recent two terms as HIA Hunter Vice President during a period in which we have seen our industry in the Hunter play a significant role in NSW, securing the title of the number one economy in the country,” Sean said.
“I look forward to working with the new Hunter Regional Executive Committee to provide feedback and develop policies that ensure that we retain a competitive residential housing industry, something which is critical to the economic wellbeing and growth of not only the Hunter but NSW more broadly.”
The role of the Hunter Regional Executive Committee is to represent the local region, assist in the development of policies for implementation by HIA staff and provide a local forum to deal with regional issues.
